Project 2A
We were given the task by Ar. Najib to draw anything of the organic nature and equip it with a combination of renderings inclusive of hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, scribbling and the whole enchilada.
Project 2B
We then proceeded with Project 2B where the task handed to us was to derive any man-made structure based on the natural form we chose to sketch in the earlier project.
My oak tree that stretched throughout my A3 paper was transformed into a functional sculpture for a park as the site. The branches would serve as water pathways and the leaves as sprinklers as a symbol of a man-made structure nurturing the nature, much less imitating it's form. At the same time, certain parts of the stainless steel sculpture will be installed with properly insulated points of light which in the day could be perceived as fruits but at night as a source of lighting in the park.
To further maximize the functionality of the sculpture, rocks made of chiseled wood in a glass shelter would be placed under the sculpture. The wooden rocks would serve as a sitting area to celebrate the atmosphere of the park. It would be aesthetically pleasing to bask in the beauty of the park while reading a book or picnicking with trickling water effect on the glass as a result of the sprinkler.
